About Us
The Michigan Interfaith Trust Fund works to foster social and economic justice to reduce, and someday even close, that divide. We believe that, by right, everyone should have a decent and affordable home. This is the foundation upon which all other facets of life can then be built—a central spot to study while pursuing an education, a sheltered space to rest before the next day’s work, a haven in which to heal when injured or ill, and the safe sanctuary where family (in all forms and for all generations) takes priority.We believe that entrepreneurial dreams of successful small businesses should be nurtured, not shattered as a result of a lack of access to capital. Each and every day triumphant ideas for small businesses, which will create jobs and stabilize neighborhoods, are born and we are proud to provide the capital to bring those ideas to fruition.
We believe that communities and neighborhoods are enhanced and strengthened as non-profit organizations renovate forgotten, and develop new, facilities to serve their residents. We are pleased to be part of neighborhood solutions to end hopelessness and tackle seemingly overwhelming problems as we extend loans to these non-profit pioneers.
Money is arguably the most powerful and driving force in our households, businesses, and communities as well as our national and global economy today. It is also a necessary driver at the core of creating meaningful alternatives and significant social change through stewardship and progressive philanthropy. Community investing, a contemporary practice of our changing times, makes access to money a reality in places where before it may have been merely a luxury.
