What people are saying about us:
"From our beginning in 1992, Avalon has looked to MITF as a critical development partner. Over $1.2 million in MITF loans have helped Avalon create 64 units of supportive housing. In 1992, as a new non-profit developer, Avalon received substantial technical assistance along with a $26,000 loan on our first 6-unit property. In 2007, MITF was able to provide $1 million in bridge financing that secured the purchase of two properties providing 10 units of housing for homeless families and individuals. Throughout Avalon's 15 years, MITF has been able to provide the kind of support we needed at the right time."–Michael Appel, Executive Director of Avalon Housing
"The Trust Fund is an engine of change, promoting economic justice through its investments. I am proud of my family's contributions to its growth, starting with my Dad--who was a founding board member--and now, through my family's continuing investment in the special fund that honors his legacy." –Susan Naimark, Trust Fund Investor
"The Trust Fund is a unique and quite wonderful vehicle where the goal of rebirth and justice are a lived reality and my hope and prayer is that those who read these words will reflect on them and make a choice to become a supporter of this life-giving ministry."
–Joan McDonald, Trust Fund Investor
"In order to grow in our personal stewardship of time, talents and treasures, we have actively sought organizations that effectively work to promote sharing of resources to create a more equitable world. The Trust Fund is an excellent example of this kind of organization."
–Joe and Luella Bassett, Trust Fund Investors
"We see a bright future ahead and are grateful to those who gave us the chance to bring our important mission to Michigan’s citizens. Many thanks, Michigan Interfaith Trust Fund."–Carolyn Mosher, President, ASWD
"If the City of Detroit is to continue to grow and retain its workforce and human resource base, small businesses devoted to community involvement, ethnically diverse hiring, and long-term stability must be given opportunity to prosper. It is for this reason that the work of organizations like the Michigan Interfaith Trust Fund must continue. I am very grateful for their help." –John Lopez, Owner, Twingo's Euro Café
"The Interfaith Fund gave me the opportunity to achieve one of my personal goals. In doing so, I am able to give back to my community. I have a wonderful time at work each day, but none of this would be possible without the funding and support of the Interfaith Fund staff."
–Phyllis Smith, Phlyis' Home Care for Children
"I had a dream of becoming a beauty salon owner and the Trust Fund helped me make it a reality. I owe everyone at the Trust Fund a debt of gratitude. Thank you for what you have done for my family."
–Devon Ritchie, Owner, Devon's Hair Salon
"The Trust Fund and their staff were phenomenal to work with, and their willingness to facilitate a loan that complemented the characteristics of the community enabled a much needed Phase II of a senior rental facility in a small village."
